Post of the week from these parts:
Why Does Resurrection Sunday Matter Any Other Day of the Next Week?
I thought of it much this past Resurrection weekend, and I can’t stop thinking about it:
Missiles are killing wailing babes and fleeing civilians in Ukraine.
Young families we love, and are on our knees with, are beating back cancer stalking dangerously close with the stench of death.
What in this busted world does Resurrection Sunday now actually do, actually mean, on the hard, ordinary days after we stop greeting each other with “He is risen, He is risen indeed”?
What if: Resurrection completely changed our life direction? What if: Resurrection changed our direction— from close-fisted to open-handed.
THIS! This is kinda my whole heart!
Everything is only finished when everything is entrusted into God’s hands.
…okay, I’m not teared up, you are!
Double-dare, no…triple-dare you: One person you could surprise this weekend with some love? Like this moment here – you have no idea the difference it can make! #BetheGift
on the stack at the farm…
This moment of sacrifice and care is unbelievably powerful. And the thing is: Sometimes the safest place is not to move toward the shore — but actually to move out toward DEEPER water

For Our Tender places, For our Hard Stories, For All of Us looking for More than a Way Through, but a New way to actually Be, a New way of Life
He is always making a way!
Turns out: There are people who are cartographers, people who make maps — and there are people who are heartographers, those who map the ways of the heart.
Cartography is the study of maps — and heartography is the study of the ways of the heart.
Heartography is about the ways the heart turns, how the heart orients to Love Himself, especially in the dark.
The key questions that Love Himself asks us, as we keep questing for a way through our only life, are questions we have to intentionally pause and ask our own soul:
Who do you say that I am? (Mt. 16:15)
Where are you coming from? Where are you going to? (Gen. 16:8)
What do you want? (Mark 10:51)
It’s only when we take the time to write down and name where we are actually at, can anything actually begin to turn around.
This is not some trite cliche — this is what you have to actually do, if you want to see the way through.
Nothing helps us see the way through — like asking the Way Himself —and then answering the questions of the Way Himself. Because God is on a quest too: He is making everything into a way to be with us. Emmanuel, meaning “God with us,” says He is also “the Way”:
God is always making everything into a way to be with us.
