To be human is to be relational and directional.
All of life turns on the turn. Life isn’t about how far you’ve come, or how far you have to go; it isn’t about detours, roadblocks, wrong ways, wildernesses, deep valleys, steep mountains, or the overwhelm that has you between a rock and a hard place.
Life is about distance, in relation to God, and living constantly in the direction of God.
No measurement in the world matters but the distance between us and God.
And I dare to believe:
Life’s detours and deconstructions mean
God wants you to run right into His arms
so He can reconstruct your heart.

Whatever hard thing you’re facing…if it’s hard to keep hoping right now…
breathe deeply today and know that there’s One who always believes in you.
Lord,
nobody knows how hard we’re trying to be brave
to show up when it’d be easier to give up,
to go do hard & holy things when it’d be easier to go do happy things,
to not quit when we don’t know how to keep going on.
And You lean close & breathe warm courage into our exhausted places:
“Just Call to Me. I guarantee I will answer you. I will make you strong & brave.” (Ps.138:3)

Hold on to your Light to hold back the flood of dark.
