How You Can Do One Small Thing Today To Make one BIG Difference: #EstherGeneration

A year ago this week, my daughter Hope and I were in Uganda where we fell in love with our sisters there.

The other half of the sky.

We met young women like Lillian in the video below, born on that red dirt, who desperately need those of us with gifts to share those gifts.

You, her, here, us —  for such a time as this. There is a whole generation, the Esther Generation, who are rising up and want to make a difference.

We have an opportunity to join the women at the IF:Gathering with If: Unleash. A dream of coming together as women to make a one time impact that we believe will greatly change a community for generations to come.

Together we can partner with IF:Unleash and Africa New Life to provide scholarships for two women in Rwanda to live in the Esther Home and attend a 4-year college.

This is a one-time opportunity to change 2 women’s lives for a lifetime.

So what if we could overwhelm these women with the love and grace of Jesus – and we could be the gift.

A college degree in Rwanda ends the cycle of poverty, but attending college is cost prohibitive. Without scholarships, the young women would not be able to get a college education.

Our goal is to raise $48,000 to fund 2 scholarships (this includes everything! Tuition, books, room & board in the Esther Home, & expenses stipend)

Our challenge by July 1 is for 1,600 IF:Gathering women to give just $30.

Just 1600 of us — to give just $30.

This is about using our God-given resources, stories, dreams & gifts to come alongside 2 young women over the next 4 years of their lives. Anyone who supports these women financially, will have the following opportunities to engage these women in friendship:

The Esther Home provides college education for exceptional young women who demonstrate Christian character, leadership and academic rigor.

These women are genocide survivors, orphans, and the poorest of the poor. In addition to attending university, the women volunteer their time to improve the community where they live, receive leadership training and learn basic finance management.

Will you join us and be one of just 1600 who can partner with with us in sending these women to college

We could be the Esther Generation for such a time as now.

For such a time as now, we will risk comfort.

For such a time as now, we will risk ease.

For such a time as now, we will say no to oppression’s disease.

For such a time as now, we will give up so our sisters can rise up.

We are the Esther Generation who rise up and say for such a time as now we will risk everything inside for our sisters outside of the gate.

Because there is nothing worth having inside the gate when our sisters are losing everything outside of the gate.

We could do this together. We could be like Christ. We could be like Christ, broken and given — and do for one, what we wish we could do for everyone.

Want to be a part of the Esther Generation rising up so our sisters can rise up?
